In Weave every function, variable and import is a symbol with an owner. Others send suggestions instead of overwriting, each stitch is checked before it's weaved into your workstream, and every change keeps its why. People and AI agents work side by side.

Weave tracks code by symbol and ownership, so many people and AI agents can change one codebase without overwriting each other, and every change carries its reason.
Symbols, not lines
Functions, methods, classes, variables and imports are the unit of change. Every symbol has one owner, who claims it under a renewable lease. Line positions never matter.
Suggestions, not overwrites
Edit a symbol you don't own and your stitch routes that part to its owner as a suggestion, with your intent and why. They accept or reject it; your work is never blocked.
A chain of workstreams
Arrange workstreams as prod → dev → feature. Promote weaved stitches up one at a time; children inherit parent changes automatically or on refresh. Weaved means deployable for that workstream.
Change requests with both whys
When the same symbol changes differently on two workstreams, a change request opens as soon as it happens. Resolve it in a private local draft, seeing each side's intent and why, then stitch.
Revert, log and undo
History only moves forward. Revert a weaved stitch with a new stitch of inverse operations; a hash-chained operation log records what every person and agent did; weave undo reverses your own last action.
Decision records for agents
stitch --why records the reasoning next to the code, anchored to symbols with [D-id] comments. AI agents identify themselves, and read the relevant decisions over MCP within a token budget.

The hosted service and web platform
Connect the CLI to the hosted service and your team shares workstreams, ownership and suggestions, while drafts stay on each device. The web platform shows the same state.
